Sprint 34 was the team’s first full sprint of the new year and kicked things off with a bang!  The goal was to complete the initial desktop designs for all the remaining portions of the site and while it was a massive amount of work, they crushed it.  We first went through all sections and implemented the new standard desktop layout.  We then reviewed all sections of the site and identified any further polishing that was needed.  Finally, since everything looks good, we pushed the new format out to the production site so everyone can see it now!

Sprint 32 Update

December 29, 2023

Sprint 32 was a shortened sprint due to the team taking time to enjoy the Christmas holidays with their families.  We still pressed forward with development and mostly focused on the full-screen desktop design of the application. In Sprint 32, exciting times are ahead!  We originally designed and developed features with the “mobile first” mentality as it’s easier to expand our to full-screen desktop layouts vs. trying to cram a busy full-screen layout into a mobile view.  Now that the overall theme and design has been hardened, it’s now time to adapt things to provide the full-screen desktop experience many of you have been waiting for.  It will take a bit of work, but stay tuned for the upcoming changes!

  • Renamed Event Gatekeepers feature to Event Check Ins
  • Various QoL updates and bugfixes

Next sprint is set to include continued work on the vehicle searching issues so it can be re-enabled soon.  We are also looking to add some additional features to the event ticket check in process as well.  The Sponsors button will be enabled in My Garage and existing Sponsorship management rehomed from the Profile Edit screen and a new Tickets button will be added so you can see/manage your event tickets.

We are gearing up to kick off our Kickstarter campaign soon, so we need all Launch Team testers to test all current features of the application and report back and issues or potential suggestions.

Sprint 3 Update

June 9, 2023

Finally; a great week of many successes!  We were able to complete many of the pending issues that had been holding features up and were able to successfully complete all user stories scheduled for the sprint.  You now can navigate and browse to vehicle details pages as well as complete the minimal event setup process (info, tickets, publishing).

In Sprint 3, we were able to complete the following features:

  • Finalized issues with sign up email validations
  • Completed Vehicle Details feature
    • General Info
    • Upgrades
    • Sponsors

Sprint 2 Update

June 2, 2023

Sprint 2 was the beginning of many new complex core features, but as always and encouraged, led to further definition, design, and development of the features.  The email validation system has one final issue being addressed and the initial framework for the event management features has been published for review.

In Sprint 2, we completed the following features:

During the next sprint, we are focus on completing the pending tasks that have rolled over from Sprint 2 in relation to the email verification, vehicle browsing, and event creation process.  We also started discussions and feature planning around Team Management features to begin tracking.

Sprint 1 Update

May 26, 2023

While we originally had a proof of concept built for the basic functionality, the new design necessitates the application being re-engineered from the ground up.  This allows us to structure the application as needed while incorporating the information learned during the proof of concept phase.  Initial focus was to create the new base application for login/testing.

During Sprint 1, we were able to add the following features:

  • Setup of new GID application infrastructure
  • Setup website/email domains & services
  • Sign up, login and logout features
  • Initial landing page creation

The team made progress in getting the account creation email validation and initial car detail profile screens, but a little bit more work is needed for those.  We are looking to focus on completing the email validation & car browsing features as well as begin creation of initial event management features.

Introducing…. GID

March 2023 – May 2023

After spending several months meeting with prospective partners and relaying our product and vision, one day the stars finally aligned and we connected with Peter Saddington, and the synergy between the teams was immediately apparent .  Peter is a fellow car and blockchain enthusiast and what’s more: he had spent the last 5+ years building the largest Web2 vehicle information system, so the fit was perfect.  GarageID was officially born!

Peter is also a certified Agile methodology trainer, so under his guidance, the entire project team attended Agile training courses and all members successfully obtained their Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certifications (5/2023).

We then immediately embraced the Agile methodology and began building the Enterprise Product Backlog (PBL) and decided on an aggressive weekly sprint release cycle.  Reviewed all proposed ideas and features and mapped out timelines to release MVP1 with expected delivery in September 2023 to begin beta testing (3 months).

Presentations

January 2023 – February 2023

With the initial Proof of Concept up and running, we began having discussions with our many different contacts throughout the car event ecosystem.  At each meeting and demonstration, we collected mountains of feedback and kept continuing the development of features of the application based on feedback.

Continued development on building out the back-end infrastructure for the application, as well as some new features such as NFT management/marketplace and the event management interface for the application.

Proof of Concept

October 2022 – December 2022

With the initial team assembled, we began building the mechanics of the event management application we dreamed up.

We created the initial framework and functionality of the following features:

  • Event Maps
  • Event Activities
  • Vendor/Sponsor Browsing
  • Car Gallery/Details
  • Car Voting by Category
  • Loyalty Points/Wallet

Also began creating initial digital asset/NFT design and marketplace functionality:

Ready, Set, Go!

June 2022 – September 2022

After many internal discussions and brainstorming sessions, the decision was made to assemble the project team and begin building our vision.  This consisted of the founders (Senter and Michael), a dedicated creative design/graphics artist (Daniella), and full-time front-end developer (Andres).

We created the initial framework of an event management application with many of the features identified during our discoveries.  These included:

  • Event Details Page
  • Sponsors/Vendors Sections
  • Event Maps
  • Participating Car Gallery
  • Loyalty Points System
  • Digital Assets
  • Retail Marketplaces

An Idea is Born

April 2022 – May 2022

The idea of a single application to unite the entire automotive ecosystem has been a dream of ours for some time, but in early 2022 we set forth to bring that dream to a reality.  With our extensive experience in both the automotive show/racing worlds and in-depth knowledge of the emerging blockchain technology, the idea of GarageID was initially born.

We spent the next few months working with some of the largest auto events in the world and learning the intricacies and mechanics of managing large events, identified many features and opportunities for the application, and set forth to change the world!
